THE FIRST LAW - INERTIA

An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

If this skater had not hit a rock he would have kept on going. Notice how he remains at the same speed even when his skateboard stops. This is INERTIA

THE SECOND LAW - NEWTON'S FAMOUS FORMULA

Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object).

THIRD LAW - FOR EVERY ACTION THERE IS A REACTION

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, this means that any force will have a equal force that opposes it

A launching rocket propels itself by applying an ACTION force on the ground below, the ground also applies a REACTION force that causes the rocket to move upwards
